Citigroup Securities Services (Client Services) Account Manager, Vice President in Zurich, Switzerland

Team/Role Overview:

The Banks segment is a key business within the Securities Services product portfolio. The business provides Custody and associated ancillary products to a variety of financial intermediary clients: international broker/dealers, universal banks, global custodians, and market infrastructures. Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction within these major relationships is at the core of the CSS franchise. Account Managers play a pivotal role in this regard by being responsible for leading the overall service experience for the client and by partnering with all associated stakeholders (Client Executives, Product, Operations &Technology) in order to drive proactive service performance, develop specific client initiatives, and implement service governance and strategy.

The role will have accountability to the Europe Head of Client Services and will require the candidate to collaborate with their peers in other regions to ensure all client personnel are fully aligned against each client relationship as regards the Account Management function.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive full adoption and adherence to all Account Management functions and responsibilities across the EMEA Account Management team for all applicable client relationships.

  • Be accountable for robust Account Management governance models against all applicable client relationships.

  • Be a single point of senior ownership for all client service issues arising from client escalations and complex issue resolutions.

  • Ensure comprehensive operational service plans are produced for each applicable client relationship ensuring consistency and accuracy on content, MIS, internal reviews.

  • Drive a culture of identification of opportunities to improve service through analysing repetitive operational issues, client engagement models, client/CE/product feedback vs competitors and other information.

  • Utilize Client and Process knowledge to champion innovation and challenge manual / bespoke / inefficient processes to drive scalability, reduce operational risk, and increase efficiencies across the client relationship.

  • Drive adoption of Account Management responsibilities and best practice across the EMEA region.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Experience in a global financial institution with experience in custody and ancillary products.

  • Strong relationship management and collaboration skills.

  • Experience in owning and/ or leading client service as an Account Manager or similar function.

  • Experience of managing by influence and demonstrated ability to manage complex issue resolution.

  • Ability to deliver to a high standard under extreme client relationship/ time pressure.

  • Self-starter, good problem solver, results oriented.

  • Strong data and process analytical skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
