We are looking for a BIM Designer to join our EMEA based team!

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a BIM Designer specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) services. You will be creating and coordinating complex electrical (including controls and telecommunications) or mechanical (piping/plumbing) models whilst linking those models with all other disciplines in a single model environment. You will be creating and/or modifying new and existing documentation sets regarding MEP systems.

Other tasks you will be involved in:

  • Testing and applying innovative workflows and techniques while developing and/or improving detailed Autodesk® Revit® models of MEP systems

  • Updating and modifying existing models and drawing sets per markups as required

  • Managing the versions and revisions of drawings & models

  • Producing Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Preparing and exporting Autodesk® Revit® models and drawings to other formats (including, but not limited to, open formats)

  • Coordinating of MEP services with all other disciplines to develop clash resolved models and creating coordinated drawing sets from the same

  • Raising the bar on model and documentation quality

  • Creating and release data center designs and collaboration in a fast-paced environment to scheduled targets

  • a motivated, highly dependable & team player individual

One of the best parts of the role is that Amazon has a global presence therefore domestic and international travel may be necessary. Team work is absolutely necessary for us to accomplish our goals. Working within the team, you will depend on others to accomplish the required work such as internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants including utilities, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years’ BIM/CAD experience in Design/Construction using Autodesk® Revit® to design and coordinate large, or complex, or innovative projects

  • Solid understanding of MEP systems and their configuration (ideally within data centers).

  • Solid understanding of BIM models’ and drawings’ quality standards and Autodesk® Revit® family’s creation and editing

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ strong Revit®/ AutoCAD® experience in the area of preparing and developing detailed Revit® models and documentation (drawings) of MEP systems

  • 4+ years' experience of designing/modelling/drawing MEP deliverables Data Centers or other large facilities (Pharmaceutical, Fabrication Plants, Hospitals, etc.)

  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

  • Experience in developing single-line diagrams (SLD) and layout drawings, and understanding the relationship between both
