Title: Part-Time Lecturer Employee Classification: LL - Lecturer Pay Grade: LL 00 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Department: College of Arts and Sciences Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The Department of Africology and African American Studies announces a part-time lecturer position for the Winter 2024 semester. This position is expected to teach two course sections, including a graduate course, AFC 602 Researching Black Communities (03 hrs). Principal Duties and Responsibilities Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Perform related departmental duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Africology and African American Studies, or a cognate discipline, including significant working experience with graduate students. Compensation is based on applicable terms of the union agreement between Eastern Michigan University and the Part-Time Lecturers' Unit of the Eastern Michigan University Federation of Teachers.
