Title: Associate Director, Programs Children's Institute Employee Classification: AP - Administrative Professional Pay Grade: AP 3 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: Children's Institute Department: Student Life Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary Assist with the development, direction, administrative management, and supervision of the EMU Children's Institute including service, academic, research and outreach components. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Director with the daily operations of the Children's Institute. Assist in development, implementation, and interpretation of institute policy and procedures, including licensing regulations, CACFP policies, Great Start to Quality, Great Start Readiness Program, and accreditation. Monitor an academic component, which provides educational experiences for students within the Institute. Manage the selection, recruitment, orientation, training and evaluation of student, graduate, and professional staff. Assist with budget development, preparing contract budgets, grant applications, proposals, status reports, and financial statements. Manage state (MiRegistry) requirements for student staff and professional staff. Provide supervision of professional staff, student staff, graduate students, and volunteers. Establish assessment protocols to monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing and new programs. Perform related Departmental duties, as required. Will act as proxy in the absence of the Director. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and skills in program planning, development and administration, typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in Child Care Administration, Early Childhood Education or a related field, is required. A master's degree in Early Childhood or a related field is preferred.

One year of child care/early childhood administrative experience is necessary.

Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification, with Early Childhood Endorsement (ZA or ZS), is required.

Three years previous teaching/care-giving in a center-based program is required. Appointment Percentage: 100%
