Job Summary/Objective

The Planning Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing plant. Responsible for overseeing production planning and scheduling, this role demands a strategic thinker who can coordinate with multiple departments, streamline processes, and align production schedules with customer demands to meet financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

o Develop, implement, and manage production plans to meet customer demand, quality standards, and delivery requirements.

o Create detailed production schedules that optimize resource utilization, minimize lead times, and reduce production costs.

o Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or resource availability.

o Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stockouts.

o Create production plans and schedules within the ERP system, considering factors such as available resources, production capacity, and customer demand.

o Use the ERP system to run MRP processes to determine material needs, reorder points, and lead times to support production and prevent shortages.

o Manage customer orders, track order progress, and ensure on-time delivery commitments are met by leveraging the ERP system's order management capabilities.

o Use the ERP system to assess production capacity and identify any constraints that may affect production schedules. Adjust plans as needed to optimize capacity utilization.

o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Production Control and Planning Clerks, providing guidance and support in achieving departmental objectives.

o Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, including capacity utilization, on-time delivery, manufacturing lead times, and production costs.
