As the Conduct Officer and advisor to Student Conduct Board hearing panels, processes and resolves campus-wide complaints of alleged violations of The Student Code of Conduct, with specific oversight of Housing and Residence Life-based cases. Investigates instances of student and student organization misconduct. Engages in office programming and outreach, increasing student, staff, and faculty awareness of The Student Code of Conduct, the Office of Community Standards & Student Conduct, and the Office of the Dean of Students. Coordinates student conduct-related training for groups including (but not limited to): Housing and Residence Life staff, student leaders, registered organizations, athletes, and study abroad participants. Responsible for annual recruitment and training of Student Conduct Board members. Position Information Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Serves as a University Conduct Officer responsible for managing conduct referrals; assigns charges to involved parties, adjudicates violations, interprets University policies, maintains student conduct records. Ensures objectivity and consistency for students referred. Recruits and trains student, staff, and faculty members of the Student Conduct Board. Coordinates the selection and logistics of hearing panels, as needed. Collaborates with faculty members and the Office of Academic Affairs to manage alleged violations of the academic integrity policy. Aids in admissions and transfer reviews for applicants with documented disciplinary and/or criminal history. Completes background and conduct checks for both internal and external parties. Educates the campus community regarding policies, student rights and responsibilities, and student conduct processes. Attends and participates in university functions. Represents the department on divisional and campus committees. Assists with day-to-day management of the department in the absence of supervisor. Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires. Performs other related duties as assigned. Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment. Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Potential for remote work. Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over student employees.
