SUMMARY:

The 2^nd^Shift Production Supervisor will be expected to efficiently manage multiple employees that work within a team to manufacture Shur-Co, LLC products. This person may need to occasionally contact and work directly with customers and other branches. The 2ndShift Production Supervisor will report directly to the site Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise a 2^nd^Shift manufacturing staff for Tarp Fab, Metal Fab, Kitting, and Assembly
  • Manage production schedules and communicate progress to employees
  • Guide and coach employees, monitoring their productivity
  • Perform quality verification of production output according to instructions and specifications
  • Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and company standards
  • Accountable for assigned areas key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to production associates to ensure production objectives are met
  • Supports capacity planning process to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery requirements
  • Collaborates with 1stShift leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including employee discipline and documentation
  • Keeping plant and work areas clean and organized
  • Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on a given task
  • Other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must be able to pass a forklift certification test and drive a forklift.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or (GED)Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field is an advantage
  • Proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role
  • Two or more years experience managing staff in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, together with a results-driven approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver
  • MS Office experience required
  • Experience with an ERP system, Visual a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings / documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic shop math required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) writing and/or speaking skill a plus.
