Fairview Health Services Emergency Department Technician in Wyoming, Minnesota

We at M Health Fairview are looking for an Emergency Department Technician to join our emergency department at our Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. We are approved for a 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period) on the night shift (7p-7a) with an every third weekend requirement.

Responsibilities Job Description
Job Summary:
ERT will assist Emergency Department staff in defined procedures; complete defined procedures; and assist in patient flow, transport, and comfort; assists with keeping the unit neat and orderly.
Job Expectations:
Provides patient care:
Transports patients by wheelchair and cart
Assists patients with ambulation and positioning
Informs RN of patient/family observations and concerns
Promptly responds to patient call lights/requests
Demonstrates concern for patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
Performs tasks with adaptations or modifications consistent with patients ages and developmental abilities
Acquires ordered specimens from patient
Transports specimens and blood products
Demonstrates adherence to accurate procedures
Assists in resuscitation
Functions as nurse extender: assists nurses with patient care activities
Documents patient care activities and procedures on the nursing records.
- Documentation is clear, concise, accurate and timely
Maintains room/unit and supplies
Restocks room, supplies, and carts
Assists with patient room clean-up between patients
Completes room and cart checklist
Performs quality control checks on designated pieces of equipment
Completes quality control checklist
Reports discrepancies and malfunctions to charge nurse or manager
Qualifications
Required:
Current EMT, ERT, CNA, or LPN licensure upon hire. This licensure does not need to be maintained.
