Program Summary

KBR requires a Senior Program Manager, located in the Dayton, OH, area to support F-35 Directorate Fleet Readiness and Sustainment (DFR&S) planning and execution activities. The F-35 DFR&S is responsible for the sustainment of a growing fleet of F-35 aircraft fielded at operating locations around the globe. Mission areas include aircraft delivery and beddown, integrated logistics, engineering support, post-production upgrades, supply chain management, program management and business operations.

Job Summary

This candidate will primarily support and advise the F-35 DFR&S Operations Director on Joint Logistics Users’ Group (JLUG) program management, the Joint Product Improvement Working Group (JPIWG) and act as an integrator for multi-agency communications regarding Long Term Down (LTD) aircraft. This position will also support the Director’s Action Group (DAG) staff directly supporting the DFR&S Director, DFR&S Deputy Directors, and DAG Chief to manage program communications and related activities. The candidate must work well with a widely dispersed team and be assertive in capturing key inputs and data to incorporate into various products daily. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills (written, verbal and active listening). Proficiency with developing presentations (PowerPoint) and written documents for executive-level review and consumption is a must. The candidate must be comfortable working in a very dynamic, fluid environment and enjoy problem solving. Familiarity with DoD 5000.02 acquisition policies and processes, a plus, but not required. Likewise, familiarity with DoD and international military protocols, customs and courtesies, is a plus, but not required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing timelines for both quick-turn and longer-term projects, and tracking progress through completion

  • Drafting correspondence on behalf of SES/GO-equivalent for wide distribution to key mission stakeholders at tactical and strategic levels

  • Planning/executing initiatives and special projects to realize vision the Director’s vision for the DFR&S organization and mission

  • Planning/executing special events, as well as hosting Distinguished Visitors, to include members of Congress, as well as senior ranking US and foreign military officers/equivalents

  • Using Microsoft Office suite of applications/tools to develop and publish products for senior executive review, coordination and approval

  • Preparing senior leader(s) for meetings and engagements, ensuring all relevant information is conveyed and fully understood to support discussions and decision-making

  • Travel: Occasional travel required (10-15%) to Arlington, VA, Fort Worth, TX, and other F-35 acquisition and operations locations may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 10 years of Project/Program Management experience

  • DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret

  • Self-starter with professional writing and communication skills

  • Candidate must possess strong computer skills and must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical and demonstrated program management skills with emphasis on communication with senior leader and stakeholder engagement

  • Working with geographically dispersed teams to produce documents and presentations for senior executive and stakeholder consumption

  • Developing and executing project/program plans from tasking through completion using common PM tools and practices

  • Problem solving

  • Critical and Creative Thinking

  • Multi-Tasking

  • Experience working in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, or other DoD organization

  • Level II DAWIA certification in Program Management and/or PMP certification
