We are currently hiring a Pharmacist based in Worcester. The primary professional responsibility of a Pharmacist is to provide pharmaceutical care including the identification, assessment and resolution of medication related problems. Inherent in that responsibility is assisting in promoting safe, efficacious, and cost-effective medication therapy. The pharmacist plans, organizes, and directs efforts to assist in meeting the patient's pharmaceutical needs. Organizational relationships include being directly responsible to the Director of Pharmacy and responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.

Salary Range: $52.00-55.00/Hourly 

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate written prescriptions for correctness: dosing, drug-drug interactions, drug-disease state interactions, and possible allergy interactions.

  • Check completed prescriptions for accuracy: correct patient, correct directions, correct medication, and ascertain that any necessary patient information, including medication guides, are included with the prescription.

  • Counsel patients and medical providers on the use of medications.

  • Provide drug information to clinicians, in a timely manner, when requested.

  • Participate in implementing goals and objectives, and policy and procedures of the department and the Health Center.

  • Supports a work environment that is responsible and sensitive to the needs of a diverse staff and clients

  • Contributes and is an active part of a positive and professional team, supporting our Mission Statement

  • The ability to solve problems using analytical thinking

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Works a fluctuating work schedule including days, evenings, weekend shifts, and holiday shifts

    Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy at a college or university

  • Licensure by the State Board of Pharmacy by examination or reciprocity

  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, a spreadsheet software and pharmacy information system

  • 2-5 year professional work experience as a licensed Pharmacist

  • Bilingual a plus
