Position Summary:

The Executive Director of Inventory Management & Optimization for our Retail Front Store is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving significant business outcomes by optimizing inventory levels and enhancing in-stock performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of supply chain processes, replenishment strategies, forecasting analytics, and logistics alignment, all aimed at reducing costs while maximizing service levels. This role will also involve close collaboration with merchandising leaders to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks, ensuring a seamless flow of products from distribution centers to our retail locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and implement category-level strategies that enhance service levels, improve inventory turnover, increase Gross Margin Return on Investment (GMROI), and minimize working capital.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of inventory directors and planners, fostering collaboration with merchandising partners to achieve financial targets and optimize the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Oversee regular End of Period (EOP) forecasting and provide insightful updates to leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Distribution Centers (DC), Transportation, and Store Operations teams to drive operational efficiencies and eliminate waste in inventory management strategies.

  • Innovation & Analytics: Utilize cutting-edge data analytics and innovative practices to develop and refine best-in-class inventory management processes that support business growth.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management or the retail industry, with a proven track record of success.

  • At least 5 years in a leadership role within a retail, distribution, or manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to drive results.

  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time as needed.

  • Strong leadership skills with a comprehensive understanding of the retail and supply chain landscape.

  • Proven ability to achieve measurable results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • A visionary mindset with the capability to challenge the status quo and think strategically.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Supply Chain Management).

  • Professional certifications such as APICS or Lean Six Sigma, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,195.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
