Job Description

The Regulatory Affairs Senior Manager is a crucial contributor to the Medicare regulatory agenda of the Government Services division and broader Prescription Benefits Management (PBM) business. The Regulatory Affairs Senior Manager is an experienced regulatory position applying Medicare regulatory knowledge to support and manage the implementation of Medicare guidance and regulatory updates. You will work independently, as well as collaboratively, with other Medicare Regulatory Affairs subject matter experts, internal PBM business owners and Government Affairs. You will use your strong skills in understanding and translating complex regulatory guidance to advise internal business partners on pending and final regulatory change in Medicare policy.Key responsibilities:• Regularly scans political environment for emerging policy trends based on regulatory proposals, data and research provided by Congress, HHS or CMS. • Analyzes and translates proposed and/or newly enacted regulatory guidance, including legislative history, comparisons to existing or proposed guidance and provide detailed explanations for how the guidance may impact internal departments’ operational processes. • Focuses on Member Communication and Marketing guidance.• Supports the coordination of responses to proposed regulatory change taking into consideration impact to business processes and goals, while meeting regulator’s expectations.• Influences the support of CVS Caremark’s various regulatory positions and works in partnership with CVS Health’s Government Affairs team in assisting to advocate for positive Federal regulatory change.• Creates effective and flawless client communications explaining and providing clear interpretation of CVS Caremark’s responsibilities related to CMS guidance.• Demonstrated ability using verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex issues to all levels of management.This is a work from home opportunity.

Salary Range

The typical salary range for this role is $75,500 - $116,900. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus plan or program. For more information on our benefit programs, please click here.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of PBM, Health Plan, government program and/or relevant work experience • 2+ years of knowledge of public policy or the regulatory affairs arena related to Medicare• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite • Experience working in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven success using strategic and analytical skills to diagnose complex problems and recommend practical strategies• Experience leading and influencing others to effect change across organizational boundaries, particularly with large employers, health plans (PBM clients), regulatory bodies and trade associations.• Knowledge of benefit plan design and administration and how the plans impact CVS Caremark’s ability to meet CMS guidelines and differentiate us in the marketplace

Education

• Required - Bachelor’s Degree• Preferred - Advanced Degree, JD or MPH
