The Arc Eastern Connecticut Cashier (Part time - 5 hours) in Woodstock, Connecticut

Description:

Cashier performs the opening and closing of store procedures adhering to company policy. Responsible for ensuring transactions entered POS are accurate, balance cash drawer, and prepare deposit slip for bank deposit. Maintain a neat and organized register area. Will perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet all customers in a warm and welcoming manner.

  • Assist customers in the check-out process using cash and credit card transactions.

  • Process returned items.

  • Customer Service.

  • Reconcile transactions.

  • Balance Cash Drawer

  • Collect donations.

  • Clean, price and merchandise donated items on sales floor.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment for customers and employees.

  • Perform other related duties as requested.

  • Maintains attendance. Adheres to policies on attendance, days of absence, and illness.

  • Keeps supervisor informed of any significant events or the need to modify any area of the operation/activity.

  • Serves as a positive and appropriate role model for program participants.

  • Provides advocacy for participants based on their personal choice and their individual plan.

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with participants, their families, and providers.

  • Responds to need of participants, families, and providers in a timely and professional manner.

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able lift a minimum of up to 50 lbs.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.

  • Must have the ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Strong math and computer skills

  • Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English.

    Schedule:

    Saturday 9:30am- 2:30pm
