Internship Overview Title: IT Helpdesk Intern Reports to: Infrastructure Systems Manager Location: Kent, WA *Out of State Applicants: There will be no relocation services support available for this internship. Work Schedule: 1st Shift; Part Time, 3 days per week. Specific working hours will be flexible depending upon the selected intern's availability. Prior arrangements can be made for reduced hours during school exams or for family commitments. Internship Program will be for 6 to 9 months. Preference is a commitment of at least 3 months. Hourly Wage: $21.00 per hour Internship Project Opportunities Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person Help set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other devices Assist with IT documentation, including updating manuals and technical guides Support IT team with larger projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new software installations. Other related duties as required. Education/Previous Experience Requirements: Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or cybersecurity. Minimum age 18. Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common software applications Familiarity with networking fundamentals and hardware setup is a plus Self-motivated with ability to cultivate a team atmosphere. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Has the ability to work autonomously. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Reliable and dependable attendance. Ability to read/write/communicate in English. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license may be required to work in all areas of the facility. Hytek Finishes is unable to support student visas. Essential Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to sit in an office for long periods but also comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment as well. Extensive use of hands in writing, computer and using mechanical equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
