Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Budget Analyst in Woodlawn, Maryland
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Financial Management (OFM), Budget and Analysis Group, Division of Budget Formulation and Presentation. As a Budget Analyst, GS-0560-13, you will perform budget development, formulation and/or execution functions for substantive HHS programs or administrative budget areas.
Assure that obligations incurred and resulting expenditures of funds are in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations.
Monitor and reconcile commitments, obligations, and reimbursable orders.
Develop cost-benefit analysis of proposed budgetary and program actions and advises agency officials and program managers of most advantageous courses of action.
Maintain complex databases, registers, and other accounting/tracking systems employed by the organization.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Developing annual spend plans for the execution of approved budgets; 2) Preparing budgetary reports for the dissemination to stakeholders; 3) Developing recommendations on accounts, including program administrative funds; and 4) Applying legislative/policy decisions for the development of budgetary plans. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
