Description
Robert Half currently has an available position for highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist with expertise in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software and a strong background in the construction industry. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all aspects of payroll for our construction company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments to employees. Responsibilities:
UKG Software Management: Utilize your proficiency in UKG software to manage payroll processing efficiently. This includes entering employee data, processing payroll runs, and generating reports as needed.
Payroll Processing: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Timekeeping Management: Coordinate with various departments to accurately capture and record employee hours worked using UKG timekeeping systems.
Benefits Administration: Assist in administering employee benefits programs related to payroll, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
Compliance and Reporting: Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports as required by local, state, and federal authorities.
Problem Resolution: Address any payroll-related inquiries or concerns from employees promptly and professionally. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues as they arise.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings, and payment history. Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data.
Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes with overall business operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist within the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software is essential.
Strong understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
