Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a T raining Technician to join our team at our Woodhull, Illinois location!
What You Will Do:
Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions for Plant Safety and Quality incidents
Perform related administrative duties, including taking safety meeting minutes, writing/maintaining operational safety documentation, and tracking employee training requirements
Determine training needs and requirements for the location on the following topics: EHS&S (Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security), Continuous Improvement, Quality Management System, Standard Work, and Process Work Instructions
Assess worker competencies while observing on the floor tasks being performed
Responsible for creating and providing training to all employees, contractors, and external partners to ensure a thorough understanding of Corteva’s safety standards programs, quality standards, Quality Management Systems, continuous improvement, etc.
Lead training, communication, and education efforts with enthusiasm and energy
Reiterate and role model the importance of Corteva’s Values and “Living Safely” mindset
Function as liaison with contract labor agencies regarding training requirements - communicate with and ensure contract agencies are training their employees on the required policies and procedures
Works closely with the site leadership team to align training to site/company strategy
Assist and prepare reports, graphs, and presentation materials to communicate key safety statistics
Conduct site tours as needed
Various other duties as assigned
Education:
- You have your High School Diploma or equivalent
What Skills You Need:
You have the needed creativity to keep materials interesting and fresh and have proven your ability to translate complex technical information into easily understood training content
You have an initiative-taking work ethic and good time management skills
You look at problems to find a solution and enjoy solving them
You value working as a team, are initiative-taking, communicate concerns, and are accepting of change
Valid driver’s license
Willing and able to conduct training sessions on different rotating shifts if needed
Capable of evaluating training effectiveness
You demonstrate integrity and promote a positive working environment by being an initiative-taker and willing to assist team members consistently
You can work independently as well as in a team environment
You are comfortable with technology and possess excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required
You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
You value health and safety! You will always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every day
You understand that delivering to our customers on time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work overtime, weekends and holidays when needed
What Makes You Stand Out:
Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field
You have two (2) years of education and/or experience in training within operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry
Knowledge or experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Standardized Work
