Genesis Corp dba Genesis10 Technical Manager -Production Support and Release Management in Woodbury, New York

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Technical Manager for Production Support and Release Management with our consumer finance lender firm client. This is a 3--6 month contract to hire position.
This position is hybrid (2 days in office) in one of 3 locations in order of preference:
Woodbury, NY, New York, NY, Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities:
  • Drives a release process end to end through collaboration across IT and respective Business Units.
  • Establishes consistent release management processes and cadence.
  • Facilitates cross-department coordination of release management functions.
  • Tracks and manages release calendar which includes monthly deployment and administration of production releases.
  • Leads the Business-As-Usual (BAU) and operational processes on the Data platform (SANDBAR & CDL), including an execution plan, issue capture and tracking, as well as triage and lead issue resolutions.
  • Defines and executes processes around the health of the Data Supply Chain (DSC) cycles.
  • Creates clear communication processes across all teams supporting the DSC - technology, data and business.
  • Informs staff and management of multiple business units of release risk and effectively mitigate it.
  • Measures release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the platform portfolio and identifies opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Ensures accurate and efficient release blocker meetings.
  • Advocates for improvements to the release process.
  • Leads and coordinates go-live activities associated with monthly releases.
  • Supports day-to-day processing and manages personnel responsible for this function.
  • Manages metadata and update processes as required.
  • Facilitates cross enterprise working groups to solicit input and feedback to develop and revise policy and framework content.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management or related field is required.
  • At least Eight (8) years' experience in deploying and managing enterprise information delivery initiatives within distributed and cloud data platforms/environments is required.
  • Consumer Financial Services background is preferred.
  • Strong Data Warehousing experience across multiple technologies, including SQL-Based databases i.e. Snowflake.
  • Proven experience supporting and release management of data platform built using technologies like AWS, Glue, Python, Power-shell, Snowflake, AWS S3, Airflow, AWS lake formation, GitHub, JIRA etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to routinely interact with multiple levels of the organization including executive level members of the organization.
  • Ability to work with the data warehouse users, IT Business Analysts and all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication.
  • Experience working with common CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS Code Commit, Code Deploy or Git etc.
