Actalent Survey Crew Chief in Woodbridge, Virginia
Actalent is hiring a Survey Party Chief will work under the direction of Senior Survey leadership to delegate and coordinate field crew member activity, ensuring successful completion of quality client deliverables. This role involves coordinating, communicating, and collaborating effectively with survey leadership and survey office members to meet client deadlines, managing day-to-day oversight of survey schedule and deliverable progress, leading Field Survey Crews, and performing and overseeing all technical field efforts. The position also includes making trigonometric calculations, researching existing record information, assisting in the completion of all surveys, and ensuring the accuracy and detail of daily data uploads and downloads.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in Field Surveying
Experience as Instrument operator or Field Survey Crew Chief
Experience operating and maintaining Survey equipment
Ability to perform trigonometric calculations, such as traverses and calculation of coordinates, control points, quantities, and areas
Ability to coordinate, communicate, and collaborate effectively
Ability to manage day-to-day oversight of survey schedule and deliverable progress
Ability to gather information from field crews to efficiently complete the project deliverables on time
Attention to safety protocols and ability to inspect job sites for safety hazards
Work Environment
The work environment involves a variety of projects, mainly focusing on Residential Communities and Commercial types in all phases. The team consists of 36 people split between 4 current teams that support different project types. The office operates with flexible schedules, accommodating the needs of employees, and maintains a fast-paced setting.
