Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Team Leader will be responsible for assisting in managing/ improving the safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale of the production area. This includes dotted line motivating and empowering team members through coaching and development opportunities. As a key leader, you will work cross functionally to advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy and overall, Parker Lean System.
Responsibilities:
Lead assigned staff areas in daily production activities in assigned areas to meet customer demand and satisfaction. Ensures compliance, regulations, and rules.
Review key analytics to provide performance feedback, identify issues or concerns, and advise on solving problems with coordination from senior leadership.
Guides daily documentation flow and reporting metrics accurately and on time as outlined. Delegates advanced work orders/blueprints to team members to prepare, process, and inspect parts for optimal quality and output. Regularly performs machine set up operations and elevated machine maintenance and cleaning to support production.
Package complex products and materials appropriately for other areas to bring work flow to completion.
Work cross functionally in designated areas to lead business needs such as extrusion, molding (all-types), FIP, TLS, trimming, splicing and all chemical value streams.
Support process engineering in the introduction of new products into the manufacturing process and perform complex troubleshooting and communicate between departments to bring issues to resolution.
Lead company LEAN and High Performance team objectives through training and ownership of team improvement board information and/ or Starpoints including engagement.
Lead Safety and 5S program, use appropriate PPE for designated area, which includes painting/ clean room environments, hazardous chemical mixing, material handling, and exposure to milling and plating operations.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
GED or High School Diploma required. Associates degree in a related field a plus.
2+ years of manufacturing or demonstrated equivalent experience required. Experience in mentoring and leading others in a lean manufacturing process strongly preferred.
Good manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination to use power pallet jack, hoist/cranes. Forklift certification or experience preferred.
Ability to work as a guide and leader to a team of dotted line reports to meet time sensitive deadlines.
Ability to perform advanced math, reading, writing and computer skills such as multiplication, ratios/fractions, Microsoft Office, and computational/ process monitoring software preferred.
Must demonstrate effective attention to detail across organization with emphasis on verbal/written English communication skills.
Ability to stand for long durations up to 8 hours, and lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
Comfortable working daily with highly hazardous chemicals, special certifications or licensing may be required.
