Idemitsu Lubricants America Corporation R&D Development Technician in Wixom, Michigan
Position Summary
Associate will be responsible for performing lubricant test procedures, blending and reporting the results under supervisor's direction. This will include keeping the laboratory neat, clean and organized.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform beaker blending for performance testing. Conducts tests following ASTM/JIS and established procedures.
- Understand the use, handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals before conducting testing and blending.
- Perform basic laboratory calculations and accurately measures properties.
- Accurately report and understand test results under supervisor's direction.
- Maintain test accuracy by running standard samples, plotting results on accuracy control charts and reporting any abnormal results.
- Read and follow ASTM test procedures, R&D test procedures and lab policies.
- Read and understand the job hazard analysis and MSDS (as needed) for the testing to be performed.
- Operate in accordance with all ISO9001/IATF16949 established policies.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- Participate in training and accurately records training dates.
- Understand QC process and support in ordering and quality checking of raw material for blending.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry / Engineering or related field
Experience
0 -- 2 years laboratory experience (entry level)

Job Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities
- Computer skills including data entry, word processing, spreadsheet creation, and modification. Familiarity with SharePoint preferred.
