World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence and Innovation in Witney for the development and manufacture of test strips and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. Our Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities and our internal quality systems.
Operations Planning have an exciting opportunity to join the team in the role of Planning Analyst .
Previously referred to as Industrial Engineering, this Planning Analysis role is pivotal in linking the planning team with the wider business, specifically looking at capacity optimisation. The role interfaces with Operations, Engineering, R&D, Testing and Technical.
In this role, you will be responsible for impact assessments and scenario planning relating to site and production capacity. The role is responsible for longer term planning in relation to space and storage requirements, and for near term capacity of our production areas.
The key responsibilities in this role are:
Owning production capacity within the 1-18 month horizon, updating assumptions on a monthly basis through the Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) process.
Partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure that non-production requests for line time are captured, managed and prioritised effectively. Managing the non-production request process.
Translating live operational issues into capacity impact assessments, and creating scenarios plans which aid business decision making.
Proposing recovery plans which limit impact to site output and/or the customer, as and when required.
The main attributes required are:
High level of attention to detail.
Excellent analytical skills: Advanced excel skills, and power BI experience preferable.
Self motivated, able to plan and prioritise your time to effectively manage multiple strands of work.
Ability to tailor communications to multiple audiences, and effectively use data to tell a story, informing others of critical information points and supporting decision making.
Demonstrate a cross functional working style which is important to support your understanding of the needs of stakeholders, and also when partnering with them in prioritising competing requirements.
To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified, but the key requirement is a breadth of experience in material planning processes within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Familiarity of S&OP is preferred, with preference given to those who have worked with Class A principals and/or in a regulated environment.
