The primary responsibilities are set forth below. The work is performed under the immediate direction of the Community Resources Supervisor with additional oversight. GENERAL FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This position performs receptionist and clerical duties for the Wood County Transportation Program, Economic Support, Energy Assistance, Child Care and Food Share Employment and Training programs. This position further provides administrative support to the Division of Community Resources. This position must ensure compliance with Agency and County policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel. Answer general questions about services offered by Wood County Human Services. Manage difficult customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs. 2. Answer transportation and other-related telephone calls and provide information to callers and/or relay messages to appropriate staff. 3. Maintain safe and clean reception area presenting the department in a positive and professional manner. 4. Create and print fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents. Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating and scanning. 5. Receive, sort, route internal and external mail. 6. Order, receive and maintain office supplies. 7. Solicit customer feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance, meet commitments in a timely manner. 8. During the heating season, answer energy assistance questions, phone calls, and assist with applications when needed. 9. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner. B. OTHER JOB DUTIES 1. Assist in preparing Bus Drivers\' daily schedules. 2. Schedule volunteer driver and ride requests. 3. Monitor the Wood County Transportation radio and communicate with Drivers when necessary. 4. Any other duties as may be assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: *A strong background in customer service. *Typing skills of 45 words per minute. *Ability to accurately operate a computer and software (such as Excel and Word, required) and other equipment as specified, and to learn any upgrades and changes which may occur. *Also necessary are basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions, and the ability to read, write, add, and subtract.
