Mölnlycke, a world-leading medical solutions company, is looking for an experiencedMaintenance Technicianto play a critical role in our manufacturing facility inWiscasset, Maine.

Duties will include performing preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance on facility and manufacturing machinery and associated equipment. You will provide support for process equipment improvements in an ISO 9001/ISO 13485 Quality System environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining proper inventory of spare parts and tools.

What you should know

  • Pay Range: $29.50 - $32.50 based on experience

  • Work hours: 5:30pm – 5:30am, 3 to 4 days/week

  • Rotating shifts every 4 weeks: Mon/Tue /Wed and Thu/Fri/Sat with some Sundays

  • Periodically “on-call” during off hours to support production, if needed, on rotation shared with other maintenance personnel

  • This position is non-exempt (qualifies for overtime pay).

  • Must be able to lift & carry up to 50lbs and work in standing positions for extended periods (8+ hours with breaks).

  • The ability to wear a respirator is required.

  • Health screening, background check, and at least 2 professional references required

  • *Sign-on/retention bonus is paid $250 in third paycheck and $750 after successful completion of introductory period.

    Your role

  • Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment and facility utilizing preventative maintenance system. Ensure preventative maintenance schedules assigned are met.

  • Appropriately prioritize assigned maintenance activities planned and unplanned.

  • Perform reactive troubleshooting and maintenance on process equipment and facility.

  • Work with machine designers to help fabricate custom machines and fixtures.

  • Work with outside vendors/service providers for work that cannot be performed internally.

  • Provide support to R&D Department to help setup/alter equipment to evaluate/validate new products/procedures.

  • Provide support to manufacturing and equipment engineering to improve OEE/uptime/safety.

  • Works in collaboration with other Maintenance Technicians to set-up, troubleshoot and improve existing production equipment.

  • Help maintain the tools and spare parts inventories. Develop spare parts requirements through familiarization of equipment use and research with vendors to determine on-hand spare parts levels.

  • Supports efforts to implement best practices within job scope; expected to participate in activities designed to improve production, quality, and safety.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

    Education and Requirements

  • 2-year Trade School or equivalent with study in electro-mechanical equipment preferred.

  • Current Boiler Operator licenseor the ability to obtain one in the first year of employment. (4th Class SSE preferred);

  • Additional licenses in engineering, electronics, electrical, and/or plumbing preferred

  • Flexible, hands-on attitude and good communication skills.

  • Understanding and practical experience with instrumentation.

  • Knowledge of or interest working within GMP and ISO 9000/ISO 13485 quality assurance systems preferred.

  • Previous maintenance/mechanical-electrical experience including repairing process machines and equipment needed.

  • Basic familiarity with chemical process equipment and chemical processes is preferred.

  • Basic familiarity of PLCs and VFDs is preferred.

  • Basic welding and machining skills (lathe, mill, saw, etc.) required; advanced knowledge preferred.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Knowledge in: Plumbing, HVAC, Pneumatic and Hydraulic, basic wiring (AC/DC circuits), NEC, NFPA, LOTO, and Arc-Flash
