This position is for a subject matter expert in Industrial Engineering, implementing Industrial Engineering strategy and, who leads project development coordination to allocate resources, equipment, and personnel for maximum utilization. Is an internal consultant in these areas by making recommendations to executive leadership to solve complex problems.
This is an onsite role based in Winston-Salem, NC.
May be eligible for relocation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Establishes the physical layout of operation lines and machinery in pursue of the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow. Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings.
Plans the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of resources.
Performs research and engineering functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
Coordinates with Material, Planning, Operations, Facilities, and Manufacturing Engineering in support of improvement projects, focusing on the optimization of complex processes and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Implements functional strategy and establishes operational plans for work area.
Develops and implements new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results.
Communicates with parties within and outside of own function, and typically has responsibilities for communicating with parties external to the organization, (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.).
Works to influence others to accept job function’s view/practices and agree/accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
Requires ability to communicate across all levels, including executive leadership, regarding matters of significant importance to the organization (cost control, productivity improvements and cost reductions).
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Industrial Engineering experience working within a manufacturing or assembly environment is preferred.
Knowledge of AS9100, APQP/PPAP, and PFMEA.
Proficiency in driving improvement using lean principles and tools.
Green Belt Certification is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
