Metal Fabricator - Winston- Salem Manufacturing

SUMMARY:

The Metal Fabricator position is responsible for the fabrication of sheet metal and wire models/prototypes ensuring end product conforms to requirements identified on prints and specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Set up all equipment required to fabricate model/prototype parts including but not limited to manual tools and CNC equipment.

  • Operate all equipment required to fabricate model/prototype parts including but not limited to manual tools and CNC equipment.

  • Performs MIG and Resistance Welding, bending and forming processes.

  • Produce prototype fabrications in a safe and timely manner while producing quality deliverables.

  • Perform required inspections of conformance and notifies management immediately when there are concerns or discrepancies.

  • Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Overtime is required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

An Associate's degree in applied science, manufacturing, engineering or other related field and/or High School Diploma and 2+ years of fabrication experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. Programming CNC tool paths using MasterCam.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The position will possess print reading skills, equipment knowledge, and familiarity with different types of welding and CNC Laser Cutting. They must be proficient in metal forming techniques and principles while possessing a good understanding of design and construction methods.

This position also requires working knowledge of a table saw, band saw, disc sander, jointer, drill press and milling machine.
