Overview

THE ROLE:

Manager, Operations Talent Development willprovide Talent Development support for all departments. Will work onsite, providing support for the Winston-Salem Herbalife Innovation and Manufacturing site. Will partner with other sites and Distribution Centers to ensure consistency in the manufacturing and distribution center training initiatives. The Manager will develop systems to ensure consistency and integrity of employee training and certification programs. In collaboration with the enterprise-wide Director/VP of Talent Development, will work together to deliver enterprise-wide learning and development initiatives that are aligned with Herbalife’s mission and values; together they will leverage the existing resources ensuring consistency in content development and delivery.

The Operations Talent Development leader will be the main contact and responsible for all outside training services/resources that are used at the Winston-Salem facility including training programs, instructors and preparation of and training materials including booklets, videos and computer learning programs. This position will work closely with HR and the Operational teams based in WS on programs such as leadership development programs, career ladders, etc. as they relate to the career progression of the workforce.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

• Partner with the Corporate Talent Development leadership to deliver enterprise wide learning and development initiatives that align with teh organization's competencies with organizational, team, and individual needs.

• Assess relevant training needs for staff and the facility in consultation with functional/department leaders, including assessment methods and measurement systems. Design, plan and deliver training courses and programs necessary to meet training needs and/or lead this activity via systems in place. Ensure all training activities and materials meet the relevant organizational, statutory, federal, state and regulatory agencies laws and guidelines.

• Develop and lead effective relationships with municipal supported training programs, in addition to identifying, selecting and managing any external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver required training. Represent the facility in meetings with regulatory agencies, outside auditors and vendors in a professional manner as needed in support of the successful completion of these audits.

• In partnership with Human Resources, contribute to the annual talent review process through addressing both individual and overall learning and development needs and focusing on succession planning.

• Develop or provide the necessary development support, tool and resources based on the talent review results, and assess the progress of the development initiatives.

• Research and benchmark learning, development and performance management standard methodologies through networking, professional meetings, and conferences.

• Develop and maintain budget for all training and development for all facilities.

• Analyze and establish metrics regarding training ROI and pre/post training support.

• Track and report training sessions conducted and maintain detailed records for company and agency review.

• Travel as required for business needs.

• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills:

• A Human Resources or Development professional who is a strategic, innovative, and creative.

• Effective team leader and a collaborative team member with departments and project teams.

• Possess advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills-demonstrated through experience in influencing staff and leaders at all levels of an organization.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully manage multiple tasks with competing priorities in a constantly changing environment and/or fast paced organization.

• Excellent communication (written, verbal), presentation and facilitation skills.

• Exceptional collaborating and coaching skills (both in-person, virtual and e-learning).

• Passionate towards helping individuals and teams develop to their full potential.

• Self-starter willing to immediately dive in to put processes in place and drive projects forward on a timely manner.

• Have ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.

• Has flexibility, sense of humor, and proactive approach.

• Cross cultural, global awareness and sensitivity

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Experience:

• 7 years’ experience as a Learning & Development or HR professional at a management level

• Solid experience in creating and developing world-class people management and leadership development curriculum and training solutions

• Demonstrable experience building curriculum and designing and implementing highly effective, results-driven trainings, e-courses and development strategies

• Solid knowledge of learning technology (e.g., LMS, content management systems, social learning systems) and instructional design

• Experience with adult learning principles, training methodologies and best practices

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related area such as HR, Training and Development, OD, Education, Business and/or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree

• Relevant Training Certifications

• Experience in training within a GMP regulated manufacturing or service environment

• Experience working with local/state municipalities in the training grant processes
