Winona County Office Coordinator in Winona, Minnesota

Winona County is accepting applications for this position until 4:00 p.m. February 6, 2025. This position starts at $26.28/hour (DOQ) with advancement up to $33.66/hour (2024 wages). Characteristics of Class: Under direction of the County Attorney and with considerable latitude for independent judgment, an employee in this class coordinates the administrative and support functions of the County Attorney s office. Develops, establishes, and implements procedures; provides advice and daily oversight of budget and financial operations; and assists the County Attorney with long-range planning to ensure efficient operation of the entire staff. Work is performed in an office setting. Examples of Duties: Any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples listed in their relative order of importance include all the duties which may be found in positions of this class. Coordinates the work assignments of support staff of the County Attorney s Department. May train staff as needed. Coordinates office operations and plans, recommends, and implements office administrative procedures. May provide guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures. Assists with preparation of the annual budget, monitors budget administration, and informs the County Attorney of concerns. Approves office purchases and maintains office supply inventory. May process vouchers, and deposit revenue for the department. Maintains and coordinates the County Attorney s appointment calendar regarding court appearances, agency and interagency meetings and public contacts. Serves as initial contact on incoming calls and communications directed to the County Attorney. Prepares correspondence, routes mail to appropriate staff, prepares minutes of attorneys, staff and support staff interoffice meetings. Compiles, proofreads legal documentation and correspondence. Requests opinions from Attorney General s office. Prepares county deeds, title opinions, and legal opinions, agreements, and contracts for Board of Commissioners. Acts as notary public for office and public. Provides file follow-up, court and client coordination, and schedules witnesses. Provides information and assistance to citizens, law enforcement, and County office personnel. Assists with trial preparation duties including creating trial folders for attorneys and organizing files, assisting with jury questionnaires, brief binding, and demonstrative exhibits. May assist with presentations for community events or other special occasions, may organize displays, performs additional special project assistance as needed. Any other duties as assigned.
