About the Opportunity
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal EC&I Engineer to join the team based out of our Reading office.
Scope
Act as the Responsible Engineer on projects
Lead project delivery teams across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning
Own and manage project budgets
Built and manage client relationships and leverage those relationships to deliver continued opportunities and new business leads
Work on systems integration, testing and validation of systems
Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
Produce high-quality technical reports
Simplify complex problems and build and maintain valuable relationships
Requirements
MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or another relevant discipline, chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body
Previous team leadership, line management, technical lead or Responsible Engineer experience
An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries)
An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS)
Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems
Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment
