City of Windsor Windsor Police Service Auxiliary Patrol in Windsor, Ontario

WINDSOR POLICE SERVICE announces openings for the

AUXILIARY PATROL SERVICE

The Auxiliary Patrol Service patrols municipal parks from May until October as well as assists with special events throughout the year.  A minimum commitment of thirty five (35) hours per month is required for parks patrol as well as ten (10) special events annually. Auxiliary patrol members will only be paid for parks patrol duties. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

  • be a minimum 18 years of age;

  • be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada;

  • have successfully completed four years of secondary school education or equivalent;

  • possess a valid class “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence with full driving privileges;

  • possess valid Standard First Aid and CPR certificates by date of hire;

  • provide three (3) work related references and three (3) other references (personal, education, or community service) attesting to the candidate’s good character;

  • satisfactorily complete an oral interview;

  • consent to a background investigation, the results of which are satisfactory to the Service;

  • physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position and satisfactorily complete a physical examination by a medical practitioner;

  • possess an acceptable work record;

  • agree to be bound by Oaths of Office & Secrecy;

  • successfully complete all Auxiliary Patrol recruit training.
