Town Of Windsor Event Specialist in Windsor, Colorado

Hiring Range: The base/starting wage for this position is $14.47 per hour, which increases based on years of service/experience.

Work Schedule: Generally, 30-40 hours per week, flexible schedule, weekends, evenings, and early mornings required on occasion.

NATURE OF WORK As a member of the Parks, Recreation, and Culture Division, individuals in this position will perform all aspects of events for the Town of Windsor and its partners and has broad authority to assure events are successful from pre-event work to post-event. The Event Specialist works closely with the Recreation Coordinator of Events and Sponsorships, outside event coordinators, contractors, vendors, and attendees. Considerable professional judgment and decision-making skills are required. The Event Specialist assists with the operation of events that occur within the Town of Windsor. Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, the Event Specialist consults with the planner/event coordinators and guides them through the planning process to ensure a successful event. Once the event is on-site, the Event Specialist oversees the safety and security of guests and the preservation of the facilities, overall event operation and promotes the highest guest services standards.

Most positions work Monday through Friday, which may also require weekend and evening hours on a regular or occasional basis. This temporary employment may be scheduled through the year on a full-time basis depending on the needs of the town but will not exceed six months in length (or 1,040 hours, whichever comes first). This is strictly temporary employment.

Please note that town employees (including seasonal employees) may only be employed in one classification at any one given time.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED The Events Specialist works under the direct supervision/leadership of the Recreation Coordinator - Events & Sponsorships to carry out assigned duties, functions, roles, and projects in both routine and complex circumstance

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The Event Specialist is assigned specific assignments, job duties, scope, authority, responsibility, roles, and requirements as determined by the town, department, division, and pursuant to laws, regulations, and practices. Individuals in this position must be able to successfully perform, be responsible for, and/or assist in the fulfillment of many job functions and duties, with or without reasonable accomm

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive: Acts as a liaison with vendors, contractors, and coordinators across multiple communication methods to ensure a smooth operation of events. Sets up event supplies, such as tables, chairs, tents, event fencing, power equipment, etc. prior to events as needed; properly stores supplies after the event. Works late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holiday hours when needed for event set-ups and breakdowns. Operates town-owned vehicles and/or equipment on occasion. Acts as town liaison for sponsored and non-sponsored events, ensuring event coordinators are complying with event and park regulations. Provides excellent customer service, including interacting with internal and external customers to answer questions and resolve problems. Identifies and reports any hazards in a timely manner. Ensures safety regulations and procedures are adhered to. Performs related work as required and assigned. Reports any issues and concerns to supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES Depending on organizational need, additional duties may include the following: Performs esearch as directed, such as discovering new technology or tools, market research, etc. Performs related duties as established by law/ordinance or reasonably directed by the town. Assists other town departments/divisions, as necessary.
