Windham Mountain Resort BARTENDER PART-TIME in Windham, New York

Overview of Position: A Bartender’s primary responsibility is to prepare drinks for the guests and servers, ensure that the proper materials and supplies are on hand, and interact with guests. They are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the work area.

Job Qualifications:

· Must be 21 years of age.

· Must have or obtain TIPS certification prior to starting work in the restaurant.

· Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.

· Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy and crowded work environment.

· Primary mixology skills required - the ability to deal accurately and expeditiously with numerous guests.

· Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and to remain standing for an entire work shift.

· Able to operate a credit card machine.

· Able to maintain numerous checks accurately, uniformly, and neatly.

· Able to serve both beverage and food quickly, courteously, and efficiently.

· Experience in Fine Dining establishments is preferred.

Job Duties: The list below best represents many of the tasks you will be asked to perform at some time during your employment at Windham Mountain

· Develop a thorough understanding of the NYS Liquor Authority rules and regulations regarding the service of alcohol, as well as company policy and procedure.

· Have a throughout understanding of Windham Mountain’s no buy-back policy.

· Serve guests in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner and in accordance with standards of service as outlined in training.

· Maintain a clean workstation including washing of sinks, glasses, utensils and equipment.

· Setup and breakdown of bar stations

· Clean and reset tables if necessary. Reset work area for consecutive functions.

· Clean bar, bar back, tables, and counters in bar area.

· Assist in the execution of food service preparation, bar promotions and dining room functions.

· Setting up and breakdown of remote beverage centers throughout the premises.

· Change soda, beer and/or wine canisters.

· Restocking or refilling liquor, beer cabinets, juice containers, ice sinks, and glassware with all necessary supplies throughout the day Inventory control.

· Assist in the preparation of special functions.

· Empty garbage and used bottle containers. Sort of all bottles and containers for return or recycle.

· Complete routine daily balancing procedures and tip allocations at end of shift.

It is important to note that while the bar staff is involved in the promotion of a festive atmosphere and the service of alcohol, we expect our employees to maintain a professional appearance and refrain from indulging in any consumption during work hours.

Work Schedule: Friday and Saturday dinner shifts, and all major holidays. This position will become full-time in late November/early December.

Compensation: $13/hr plus tips.

We will attempt to offer consecutive days off and accommodate special scheduling requests, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to satisfy all requests.
