As a Certified Medication Aide on our team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the right medications at the right time, with a caring touch. This position requires a perfect blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and genuine compassion for those in your care.
Responsibilities:
• Administer medications to patients with care and precision, following prescribed orders
• Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions or medication reactions
• Maintain accurate and detailed medication administration records
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members about medications and care
• Assist in monitoring medication inventory
• Provide compassionate support to patients during medication administration
• Ensure compliance with medication safety protocols and regulations
• Participate in care planning meetings, offering insights on medication-related matters
• Assist with patient education regarding medications, demonstrating empathy and patience
• Collaborate closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
• Current Certified Medication Aide license in good standing
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a CMA, preferably in a similar healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of medication administration techniques and safety protocols
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities
• Genuine compassion and patience when interacting with patients
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems
• A warm, caring approach that puts patients at ease during medication administration
• Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of medication management
• Strong interpersonal skills, allowing for effective communication with individuals
• Ability to remain calm and composed in fast-paced or stressful situations
• Commitment to ongoing learning about medications and best practices in patient care
