J&J Family of Companies Maintenance Planner/Scheduler in Wilson, North Carolina
Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our MAKE Asset Management Organization located in US Large Molecule Drug Substance Site located in Wilson, North Carolina. This role will support a new site startup, as such it may require periods of heightened travel to support these activities. This travel would be during the site ramp up period and dependent on functional needs and project timelines (in some cases frequent travel and or short terms stays with vendors, sister companies, partners).
While this role will ultimately support the site operations located in Wilson NC, this role will also be required to support the project phase across both design & construction. For the project design phase, the role will require you to be present with our design teams in the Greater Philadelphia region. Once the design phase is completed, this role will support the construction and operational start-up of the site. For this, you will be required to be on site in Wilson, NC. Based on your current location the hiring team will work with you to determine travel and relocation arrangements. In steady state, we expect travel to be less than 25%.

Position Summary:
The MAM (MAKE Asset Management) organization operates as one integrated team in the delivery of Engineering, Maintenance and Execution Systems solutions. We operate in a standard, coordinated and consistent manner in support of the current and future requirements of our Manufacturing and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and in partnership with key internal/external network.
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler reports to the Maintenance Systems Manager and is responsible for life cycle management and maintaining the reliability of manufacturing assets and utilities, through preventive and corrective workorders. Working closely with manufacturing, the maintenance team lead will form part of the overall site goal of maximizing asset performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Using the site CMMS, owns the maintenance schedule that provides process level overview of manufacturing activities with a monthly horizon.
Prepares and communicates detailed maintenance schedule one week in advance, coordinating maintenance and manufacturing personnel and equipment.
Ensure jobs are walked down and detailed plans are drafted. Ensure parts are identified and ordered before work is scheduled. Ensure EHS permits and LOTOTO documentation is prepared before work is scheduled.
Ensure extra documentation for jobs are put in the system such as inspection reports.
Performs training as needed for contractors and visitors per site training SOP.
Arranges and schedules third-party contractors when required for maintenance activities
Optimizes schedule to effectively utilize available resources while minimizing work in progress inventory.
Controls and minimizes planned backlog.
Determines priorities and initiates action when changes in the process and/or resources dictate re-evaluation of existing schedules. Reviews updated plans with supervisory personnel.
May participate in the daily Reliability Room meeting. Works as a member of a team to help resolve problems affecting the plant schedule, communicates changes to the appropriate parties.
Support development of meaningful schedule-attainment metrics and works with area management to prevent scheduling conflicts.
Coordinates with production planners to schedule activities with minimal equipment downtime.
Coordinates with technicians, management, and purchasing specialists to create purchase requisitions and service entry sheets.
Works with management and peers to communicate the maintenance schedule
Coaches and provides leadership to colleagues in techniques, processes, responsibilities and best practices related to planning and scheduling.
Develops and implements improvements including but not limited to preventative maintenance plans, calibration plans, spare parts, and metrics.
Performs above functions to meet plant goals and objectives. These include, but are not limited to: PM compliance, budget, and parts inventory to support the manufacturing production schedule.
Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules.
Assists in construction, commissioning and qualification of equipment.
Maintains equipment files - to record pertinent repair information – to enhance future repairs.
Develops and manages the computerized maintenance management system – SAP-PM, MM and QM modules.
Developing maintenance procedures and equipment files. Assisting with generation, review and revision of maintenance documentation as necessary.
Support Master Data creation during project execution
Qualifications
Education:
- Trades qualified or have a Diploma or Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline is required.
Required:
A minimum of 5 years of Maintenance utilities experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical background in manufacturing requirements, engineering elements, etc.
Knowledge of cGMP’s for Maintenance in an FDA regulated environment.
Working knowledge of bio or pharmaceutical or chemical process, utilities, and facilities.
Detail and goal oriented, teamwork, customer-focus, thorough understanding of GMPs and regulatory requirements.
Influencing skills, partnering and collaboration skills, analytical skills, conflict and risk management skills, critical thinking and good oral and written presentation skills are required.
Planning experience with SAP, Maximo or equivalent
Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred:
Scientific or technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls, utilities engineering.
Maintenance experience within a GMP regulated environment.
Experience of Delta V, PLC and SCADA systems
People management experience.
Project Management experience.
FPX certification and/or Six Sigma and/or Lean experience.
Experience in green or brown field GMP MFG facility start-up including process systems, automation, utilities, facilities, and operations.
