Novant Health PRN Clinical Pharmacist in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to support primarily the central pharmacy with product verification and dispensing, while also providing direct patient care. This role involves order verification and identifying therapeutic problems as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the central pharmacy by verifying and dispensing medications.

  • Perform direct patient care tasks, including:

  • Order verification

  • Identifying and addressing therapeutic problems as appropriate

  • Ensure accurate medication management and patient safety.

  • Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as required.

  • Work primarily day shift hours, with some departmental needs for evening shifts.

  • Provide infrequent nightshift coverage as part of a rotation.

    Requirements:

  • Availability for weekend and holiday rotation.

  • Flexibility to work evening and occasional night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification, required. PhD, preferred. Doctorate of Pharmacy, preferred.

  • Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification:

  • Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.

  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification, preferred.

  • Additional Skills Required: Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
