Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose:

Work on a team to apply your knowledge and experience to solve complex problems and improve manufacturing cost & capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Maintain and repair technical equipment to ensure optimal performance.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement solutions to problems.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of systems and equipment to detect faults.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.

  • Provide detailed reports on repairs made and issues encountered.

  • Participate in continual learning and professional development activities.

  • Work with engineering project teams to develop new process and/or equipment capability.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 year technical degree or High School Diploma with 3+ of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • 2+ years manufacturing or technical environment experience

  • Creative/innovative problem solving

  • Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions

  • Results oriented and high commitment

  • The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly

  • Excel knowledge

  • Experience coding and troubleshooting PLC software

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and PLC schematics

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years manufacturing environment experience.

  • Troubleshooting experience

  • Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems

  • Design software knowledge

  • Ability to use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and rulers)

  • TwinCat PLC programming experience

  • Motion control programming experience

Work Hours:

  • M-F 8am-5pm

  • Periodic off-hours (on-call) coverage

The range for this position is $56,926.00 - $78,273.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
