JPMorgan Chase CCOR Privacy and Data Risk Management Director in Wilmington, Delaware

The Executive Director position will serve as the lead Data Risk Director for CCB Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) . The position will be responsible for the implementation of a Privacy Operating Model that provides independent oversight and challenge of privacy and data risk in Consumer and Community Banking (CCB). The Data Risk Director will be responsible for the oversight of any privacy and data compliance-owned requirements, and providing transparency and reporting in line with the Global Privacy Framework.

Responsibilities:

The CCB CCOR Data Risk Director will manage a team providing independent second line of defense oversight of privacy and data risk management the sub-lines of business across CCB in alignment with the firm-wide CCOR framework, including governance and oversight, regulatory management, policies and standards, training and awareness, monitoring and testing, issue management, risk assessments, and reporting. Key responsibilities include the following.

  • Lead the compliance strategy for data management for CCB in conjunction with the Global firmwide program by staying abreast of the evolving regulatory landscape regarding data governance and/or data management.

  • Strong coordination and collaboration with the sub-line of business Compliance and Operational Risk teams on any privacy or data risk management impacts or issues

  • Monitor regulatory landscape and communicate policy requirements to impacted functions to drive procedural development; obtain transparency into the impact/preparedness for achieving compliance

  • Working as a proven compliance professional with minimal supervisory guidance.

  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts by participating in firmwide and/or CCOR DEI activities.

  • Work independently and as a core team member, exhibiting strong relationship management and negotiation skills.

  • Work directly with senior leaders in CCOR and the first line of defense to engage and influence senior stakeholders to identify and assess compliance risk, including emerging and key risk trends, risk events and issues.

  • Assist CCB business Privacy Champions as well as Compliance Privacy Leads for each line of business within CCB and escalate business risks to Compliance Management

  • Drive the reporting/escalation of privacy issues into systems of record and work with CCB Incident Response managers to obtain insight into the handling and reporting of privacy incidents

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the firm's data-related compliance risk program and prepare and present horizontal CCB level reports for Senior leaders related to data and compliance risk.

  • Partner with the monitoring and testing program to provide holistic compliance risk coverage to measure compliance with the firm's data-related policies and standards.

  • Demonstrate exceptional people management skills by setting and communicating goals; measuring accomplishments, holding people accountable, and getting useful feedback; developing and delegating well; keeping people informed; and providing effective coaching to direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of financial services experience in Compliance, Privacy or Data Governance/Management, Legal, or Risk, Control, Audit, or Operations.

  • Experienced professional with a strong compliance or regulatory background.

  • Legal degree, Bachelor's degree, or comparable work experience involving data governance, data management, or data risk required.

  • Excellent decision-maker with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • CIPP certification strongly preferred

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail and an ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear communications.

  • Must be innovative and adaptable; highly motivated, and organized.

  • Team player, with the ability to work collaboratively with functional, line of business, regional, and global stakeholders.
