OneMain Financial Associate Analyst Intern in Wilmington, Delaware
Associate Analyst Internship
Location: Wilmington, DE; Charlotte, NC
OneMain Financial is seeking exceptional undergraduate or graduate students to join our Associate Analyst Internship Program (AIP). In this 10-week paid, hybrid, internship program, in Wilmington, DE, you will dive into the deep end of consumer finance analytics as you apply your creativity and critical thinking to develop a real-world use case. Examples could be, but aren’t limited to, (1) creating a digital marketing campaign to acquire new customers; (2) determining the right loan amount to offer to new-to-credit customers so that it is high enough to meet their needs but low enough that they can afford to repay it; (3) optimizing the assignment of applications to our 4,500+ branch team members; or (4) developing new options that help our customers get back on track when they are experiencing an unexpected challenge.
No matter the project, you’ll be working on a real-world use case – not a made-up simulation. If your solution works well enough, it will be deployed in the market. How is that for having impact? Along the way, you will be paired up with an analyst who is early in their career who can give you the tips and tricks you won’t learn in school, as well as their advice on how to successfully launch your professional journey. You will also be coached by managers who will guide you through the full arc of an analytic project. Finally, you will have direct exposure to senior leaders in business and credit management who are eager to share their perspectives from their own career arcs, as well as their thoughts on where this industry is headed.
In the Role
Apply strategic thinking and analytic skills to solve complex, unstructured business problems.
Actively contribute to our team’s vibrant culture through sharing knowledge, helping peers, and being a great person to work with.
Develop creative technical solutions to improve the company’s decision making, the customer’s experience, and shareholder returns.
Requirements
Current undergraduate or graduate student actively enrolled in an analytic degree program discipline (examples: Business, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Biostatistics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Data Analysis, Computer Science) with an expected graduation date of Winter 2025 or Spring 2026.
Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics and concepts to a non-technical audience.
Innovative and capable of developing creative solutions to complex, data-driven problems.
Proven experience (in an academic, athletic, volunteer, or employment context) working with teams of diverse individuals to deliver complex projects.
Preferred:
Successful candidates will possess strong analytic, strategic thinking, communications, and leadership skills.
They will also demonstrate curiosity, creative problem solving, integrative business thinking, teamwork, and bias for action.
Just as importantly, they will be enthusiastic learners who want to tackle real-world challenges.
About You:
You are ready to launch your data analytics career.
You want to create solutions to help hard-working Americans improve their financial lives.
You want to directly learn from some of the best data science and business leaders in consumer finance.
