Ethos Veterinary Health ICU Veterinary Technician, PEAK in Williston, Vermont

Are you ready to take your veterinary career to the next level? PEAK Veterinary Referral Center (https://www.peakveterinary.com/) seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team. As an integral part of our hospital, you'll be at the forefront of providing exceptional care to our hospitalized and ICU patients.

This position is great for any Veterinary Technician that likes variability between shifts!

What You'll Do:

  • Comprehensive Care: You'll be responsible for delivering top-notch care to a diverse range of patients, including postoperative surgical patients, internal medicine cases, ICU patients, Urgent Care cases, oncology patients, and those requiring cardiac attention.

  • Advanced Technical Skills: From collecting samples to administering medications and calculating dosages, your expertise will be vital in ensuring our patients receive the best treatment possible.

  • Critical Thinking: As a seasoned technician, you'll triage critical cases, monitor patient vitals, and promptly report any changes in status to the attending doctor.

  • Empathetic Communication: Your compassionate communication style will shine as you educate and update owners on their pet's condition and facilitate smooth patient discharges.

    Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour shifts

  • Monday/Tuesday: 7a-7p in ICU

  • Third day would be Wednesday or Thursday, mainly in Urgent Care

  • 7a-7p OR 9a-7p

  • Hours worked between 7a-9a would also include assisting in Surgery set up.

    Compensation is determined pending a skills assessment:

  • Starting compensation would be $20 but can go as high as $34 for an experienced, level III technician.

  • You must have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to):

  • Venipuncture

  • Placing IV Catheters

  • Drug Calculations

  • Administration of Medications (IV or other methods)

  • Taking Vitals

  • Gathering Medical History
