Description: Full-time, year round position in our Arborculture Department, involving the safe removal of dead / storm damaged trees, using sophisticated climbing and rigging techniques, as well as to cut away dead or excess branches to improve appearance, health, and value of a living tree. Utilize bucket truck, hand tools, chain saws, chippers, stump grinder and tree climbing equipment on a routine basis. Job Duties: - Operate and maintain bucket truck. - Routinely perform climbing jobs, as well as assist ground crew with site cleanup, chipping brush, and loading debris. - Perform general tree care according to ANSI standards with minimal or no supervision. - Maintenance of equipment associated with the trade (chain saws, pole/hand saws, pole pruners, stump grinder, etc). - Summer and dormant pruning and shearing when needed. Requirements: - 3 years experience with tree climbing and bucket truck operation, skilled in all aspects of tree pruning and removals following ANSI standards. - Experience removing trees near obstacles and in high-risk situations. - Experience in rigging, cabling, stump grinding and operating all equipment associated with the trade. - Knowledge of tree identification and tree pruning techniques. - Possession of a valid Massachusetts Driver\'s License is required, as well as a Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL), class B or better, with a DOT medical card. - Ability to lift, pull, and carry heavy equipment and material associated with the trade. - Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, and after hours for emergency situations. - Use of PPE and follow safety guidelines. - Reliability, punctuality and being a team player are all essential. - Occasional overtime is required when necessary.
