Job Title: Machine Builder

Job Description

This position contributes to the manufacturing of quality blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and all sub-assemblies using power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required tools and/or equipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and Company safety standards.

  • Build or manufacture items to drawing, bill of material, and established production quality and quantity as scheduled.

  • Proficiently use precision measuring equipment.

  • Assist with training of employees when necessary.

  • Assist customers/vendors with phone or site consultation when necessary.

  • Maintain and repair building/installed equipment or new equipment as assigned.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain good housekeeping to ensure quality and safe operation.

  • Assist in other departments as a temporary assignment.

  • Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel, or others to resolve manufacturing problems.

  • Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.

  • Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).

  • Possess personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively.

  • Use mainframe computer.

  • Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to be manufactured.

  • Work with both metric and inch systems.

  • Submit daily time accounting and payroll information or other requested paperwork.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to build sub-assemblies and/or final machine assemblies.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints/drawings/schematics.

  • Perform layouts, drilling, tapping, pinning, etc.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
