Job Title: Machine Builder
Job Description
This position contributes to the manufacturing of quality blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and all sub-assemblies using power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required tools and/or equipment by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and Company safety standards.
Build or manufacture items to drawing, bill of material, and established production quality and quantity as scheduled.
Proficiently use precision measuring equipment.
Assist with training of employees when necessary.
Assist customers/vendors with phone or site consultation when necessary.
Maintain and repair building/installed equipment or new equipment as assigned.
Perform preventative maintenance and maintain good housekeeping to ensure quality and safe operation.
Assist in other departments as a temporary assignment.
Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel, or others to resolve manufacturing problems.
Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.
Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
Possess personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively.
Use mainframe computer.
Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to be manufactured.
Work with both metric and inch systems.
Submit daily time accounting and payroll information or other requested paperwork.
Essential Skills
Ability to build sub-assemblies and/or final machine assemblies.
Ability to interpret blueprints/drawings/schematics.
Perform layouts, drilling, tapping, pinning, etc.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
