PETTINGILL FRUIT FARM Orchard and Field Laborer (Temporary) in WILLARD, Utah

Temporary Need: 03/10/24 - 10/31/24. Twelve (12) full-time, seasonal, temporary Orchard and Field Laborers needed. Requirements: Ability to lift 75 lbs.48 hours/week, Mon-Sat. From 6:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m. Schedule varies according to available sunlight. May start as early as 6am or work as late as 8pm. Rotating schedule during harvest time. Holidays will be required. Must handle fruits and vegetables with care. No experience required, will train. Wage is $16.63/hr. Raises and/or bonuses and incentive pay may be offered to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order, at the company's sole discretion, based on factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Deduction from pay will include Social Security; Federal Tax; State Tax. Location: Work will be performed in Willard, Utah. Duties: Professional Pruning, thin, plant, pick/sort fruits & vegetables, spray weeds, clear fields; clean field residue, water plants/trees. Details: Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities and transportation provided at no cost to the worker. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued by DOL for the time period the work is performed. This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application Free transportation will be provided from the housing location to the worksite and return each day. Vehicles are available as needed for the workers: Ford Fusion car with a capacity of 5, Buick Regal car with a capacity of 6, Dodge 2500 truck with a capacity of 3. Pickup and drop off times will vary depending on schedule. Transportation Provided. After worker has completed 50% of work contract period, employer shall reimburse worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the workers has come to the place of work (currently $15.46 per day minimum, or $59.00 per day maximum for workers with acceptable receipts) Upon completion of the work contract, employer will pay reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker departed to work for the employer, except when the worker will not be returning to the place of recruitment, due to subsequent employment with another employer who agrees to pay such costs, in which case this employer only pays for the transportation to the next job. The amount of the transportation payment will be equal to the most economical and reasonable similar common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved. Terms and conditions of employment: Workers must be able to perform all duties at entry level as well as perform additional mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency while working at a sustained, vigorous pace; Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor and will be required to keep all property and farm buildings clean; workers must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; the employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment.
