General Summary Responsible for operational set-up with equipment, as well as repairs, adjustments, lubrication, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of equipment in assigned area(s) of responsibility. Also, need to follow established procedures and work instructions for job responsibilities and assignments. Principal Accountabilities 1. Perform daily maintenance of Building and Grounds department assets (ex. HVAC, Ammonia Cooling, Boilers, Exhaust Fans). 2. Change Filters, Clean Screens, Belt Changes, Cleaning of HVAC assets. 3. Follow all approved procedures and work instructions. 4. Maintain good work area housekeeping practices according to 5S standards. 5. Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection 6. Follows all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's) for area assigned. 7. Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), food handling before and after equipment inspection and repair activities. 8. Attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed to maintain skill level with changes in the industry. 9. Assists in making improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program. 10. Executes and documents planned and unplanned work findings and data during shift via computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). 11. With assistance, execute mechanical work orders in accordance to policy. 12. Assists with equipment breakdowns/repairs and resolution. 13. Learns methodologies including, but not limited to: root cause analysis (RCA) and break down failure analysis (BDA) . 14. Develops and demonstrates an understanding of various diagrams which may include but are not limited to: mechanical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) etc. 15. With assistance, applies equipment care concepts of autonomous maintenance (AM) including but not limited to: Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication (CIL) and basic parts and tools usage. 16. May perform other duties as required. Job Specifications (knowledge, skills, abilities, education, certification, and training normally required for competent performance in the job) EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related manufacturing experience is preferred. Be able to troubleshoot mechanical issues competently and safely with facilities equipment (I.E. HVAC, Ammonia Cooling, Boilers). Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools is necessary.
