Aston Carter Underwriting Associate in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania

Description:

Underwriting Trainee in our Commercial Underwriting Unit. This position provides the opportunity to learn how to evaluate risks for Workers’ Compensation, Business owners’, Commercial Auto, Professional Liability, and Umbrella policies for small businesses. This is a great opportunity to begin a career in the commercial insurance industry. The following hours available are: 9AM-5:30PM, 10AM-6:30PM, and 12PM-8PM.

This is a hybrid position requiring both in office and remote work in Wilkes Barre, PA

Utilize company underwriting criteria to evaluate risks for various lines of business

Perform independent verification of insured's operations

Review and process change requests on in-force policies

Evaluate in-force policies at renewal

Participate in Underwriting Training for new products, directives and processes

Participate in projects as assigned

must Haves:

Candidates should have investigative skills, be comfortable using the Internet as a research tool, and have excellent communication and customer service skills. You will work in a fast-paced team environment requiring solid time management skills and adaptability in a constantly changing environment, including changes to technology, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory conditions

Bachelor’s degree Required!

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong computer navigation skills

The client is looking for someone who has previous Insurance Sales Experience. Holding a current Property & Casualty License is a huge plus but they are also open to someone who has held the license in the past but is no longer active.

This position will start in Service but move quickly to Sales once this candidate has a good feel for the way the client operates.

Intangibles are the most important thing to them and they are willing to train individuals.
