Join our Wilkes-Barre, PA team of skilled Survey Technicians and play a crucial role in supporting field survey operations, collecting accurate data, and ensuring the success of survey projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, be comfortable working outdoors, and possess a keen interest in land surveying.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys using various surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, drones, and 3D scanners

  • Accurately measure distances, angles, and elevations to collect essential survey data

  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment to ensure proper functionality

  • Perform routine calibrations and adjustments to guarantee the accuracy of measurements

  • Work closely with the Crew Chief and other team members to execute survey projects efficiently

  • Assist in setting up and tearing down survey equipment at project sites

  • Download and organize collected field data for further processing

  • Assist in the preparation of survey drawings and reports

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during field surveys to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment

  • Report any safety concerns promptly

  • Participate in site reconnaissance activities to assess conditions and potential challenges before initiating surveys

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of survey activities, measurements, and field notes

  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in surveying, geomatics, or a related field

  • 0-2 years of experience as a Survey Field Technician

  • Familiarity with surveying instruments and equipment

  • Basic understanding of surveying principles and techniques

  • Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment

  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Drone license is preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
