Job Summary

Perform various distribution engineering design activities and provide project management and technical support for the construction aspects of the make-ready program. Coordinate various maintenance programs, develop construction standards and practices, and assist in selection of tools, materials, and equipment for performing line construction, maintenance, and other work. Provide supervision of line construction and maintenance performed by company and contractor personnel as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop construction standards, productivity standards, work practices, and procedures for doing line construction work. Conduct assessments of field operations to assure prescriber construction standards and practices are being employed. Assist with evaluations of tools, materials, and equipment used for line construction. Provide training as required to implement new standards, procedures, practices, and equipment.

  • Coordinate various maintenance replacement and inspection programs. Programs like pole and tower inspections, overhead and underground distribution line and device inspections, and switch, capacitor, and protective device maintenance.

  • Work as a member of the DA group programming, testing, installing, and documenting the various distribution devices. Provide troubleshooting support and training on the various devices.

  • Conduct field inspections of poles, transformers, and other devices and produce work orders for the replacement of outdated equipment. Continue the Quality Assurance Program inspecting the construction practices of various line crews. Provide construction oversight in support of the make-ready program.

  • Provide support to the supply chain effort in Forty-Fort. Perform other duties like storm damage and restoration efforts following storms and small engineering projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience

  • BS Electrical Engineering Degree
