Kids Central, Inc. Interstate Compact for Placement of Children/Out of Town Inquiries/Transfer of Jurisdiction (ICPC/OTI/TOJ) Specialist - in Wildwood, Florida

VETERANS PREFERENCE

Salary: $18.46 to $22.57 per hour

The ICPC-OTI/TOJ Specialist is responsible for the receipt, processing and monitoring of Interstate Compact for Placement of Children/Out of Town Inquiries/Transfer of Jurisdiction (ICPC/OTI/TOJ). This position serves as the liaison for company to two contracted Case Management Agencies who provide case management services to Judicial Circuit 5 (Marion, Lake, Citrus, Sumter and Hernando Counties). The two case management agencies provide oversight on protective supervision cases for families within the child welfare system. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the interstate and intrastate transfer of jurisdiction and/or courtesy supervision of court cases. The individual serving in this role must have communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple entities across the state of Florida.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as company liaison for activities relating to the ICPC/OTI/TOJ processes.
  • Receives, reviews and processes all ICPC/OTI/TOJ requests, ensuring accuracy of file contents, including maintaining tracking log of requests, ensuring the assignment of incoming requests, following up on overdue documents, and notification of outcome of all inquiries.
  • Assists case management in the processing and resolution of complaints and inquiries related to an ICPC/OTI/TOJ.
  • Develops weekly reporting mechanisms for status on home studies reports due; completes monthly activity reports measuring compliance of family care management agencies.
  • Researches operating procedures related to ICPC/OTI/TOJ process and ensures policy updates or changes are communicated to assigned family care management agency.
  • Will be required to testify in court proceedings as to tasks, assignments and completion of ICPC and OTI inquiries.
  • Undertakes special projects, as requested.
  • Maintains aworking relationship with customers, residents and co-workers, returning all phone calls, emails and referrals within 24 hours.
  • Conveys a professional, positive image within the community and with customers, residents, vendors and staff members.
  • Respects the confidentiality of clients.
  • Ability to update and maintain their outlook calendar.
  • Utilizes the APD system to clock in and out.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage their time appropriately with the work week.
  • Completes mileage report on a monthly basis; turns it in to the Supervisor for approval.
  • Attends meetings, classes/conference and in-service training as requested or assigned to update knowledge and skills related to ICPC and OCS duties.
  • Assists with completion of quarterly reports.
  • Assists in completion of required Quality Assurance activities as designated by the Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. High School Diploma and one to two years administrative experience. Licensure/Certifications
  • Employer will conducta Level II Background Check
  • Valid Florida driver's license and insurable by agency's current insurance carrier.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to meet Organizational Required Competency standards
  • Working knowledge of the Florida child welfare system
  • Customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Well organized, efficient, dependable and accurate when performing duties
  • Ability to learnwork under pressure, meet tight deadlines and multi-task
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Accurate word processing (typing) skills
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and is largely a sedentary ro e; however, it requires the ability to lift up to 5 pounds regularly, stand, kneel, bend, sit and walk.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
