As a vital member in our dynamic and diverse HR Organization, the TA Manager will be an agile, team oriented, self-starter, who is capable of working in a highly matrixed organization.

This person will report to the Talent Acquisition Director for Germany and work closely with the business, workers’ council and have direct line management responsibility for the Commercial team members.

You will set up and deliver AbbVie’s operational hiring strategy for Germany and position AbbVie as the employer of choice in the biopharma industry!

Regular presence between AbbVie sites in Wiesbaden and Ludwigshafen may be necessary at times.

The role is made up of two components:

  • TA Commercial Hiring Operations & Leadership:

  • Partner closely with the local HR Director & HR team to set and incorporate the TA strategy into the overall regional talent agenda and execute with the support of the local HR Director and TA Director.

  • Provide strategic Line management of talent acquisition team members to foster a high performance culture.

  • Lead and participate in ongoing projects to support the region, gain buy in from local stakeholders, support roll initiatives, hiring strategies and hiring manager education etc (not limited to)

  • Collaborate with EVP specialist to position AbbVie as the employer of choice in the biopharma and aesthetics industries in Germany and to create and support delivery on EVP campaigns where appropriate.

  • Deliver additional Centre of Excellence support as needed across the region.

  • Senior Level Recruiting:

  • Lead the recruitment and pipeline development for senior-level roles across the multiple functions, ensuring a robust talent pool for critical capabilities.

  • Collaborate with local and regional leadership, to create & understand overall regional talent strategies, using Talent Management Review data to prioritize pipelining efforts.

  • Manage end to end recruitment lifecycle of senior level vacancies, partnering closely with local HRD and leaders.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manager, Talent Acquisition

  • Compile and communicate the knowledge base, industry overviews, market trends, and company initiatives to team members, BHR and business leaders.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Human Capital Response Plans to meet business objectives.

  • Role model effective recruiting process, practices and standards providing high quality experience for candidates and hiring managers.

  • Oversee end-to-end for senior level recruitment across all functions, attracting top diverse talent and develop a strong qualified talent pool across multiple functions of the business.

  • Set and execute through team local EVP, Branding & Recruitment Marketing Strategy for the affiliate, in collaboration with BHR & business leaders.

  • Ensure compliance to Germany’s employment laws and AbbVie policies and practices for applicant tracking compliance and reporting metrics.

  • Provide strategic business partnership with hiring managers and leadership on all external staffing related issues. Build solid relationships with key partners across the organization that yield consistent processes and impactful results.

  • Utilize data and market intelligence to provide consultative guidance, regularly assessing future talent needs ensuring appropriate budgeting is in place to support recruiting demand.

  • Actively contribute to being part of the local TA Leadership and sharing experiences and best practices with the area TA Leadership Team and driving initiatives and projects to enhance TA consistencies across the countries and deliver best in class TA service to the business.

  • Additional job functions would include local TA vendor partnership and management as well as monitoring of agency spend in collaboration with local procurement, data integrity of TA systems, management, achievement of and provision of TA metrics.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 8+ years recruitment experience in a competitive, fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrates a strong business presence and can instill confidence in clients and deliver results.

  • Proactive recruiting and sourcing experience to include talent pipelining and long-term engagement strategies.

  • Experience or exposure to managing and executing EVP, branding campaigns and recruitment marketing strategies.

  • Proven staff management experience required as well as working in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Healthcare industry recruitment experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience in collaborating with a broader HR Organization in support of business initiatives preferred.

  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.

  • Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.

  • Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement. Learns, fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change the course quickly where indicated.
