Responsibilities

General Statement - To maintain, operate, repair, build and rebuild-plant infrastructure, tools, tooling, assemblies, production parts, experimental parts, and systems pertaining to work by means of welding-within the individual's skill set and/or with proper training. Team with others to weld, fabricate, inspect, rework of all types and-materials to ensure the timely delivery of quality products to the-customer. Tasks performed will require product conveyance, multi-tasking-and machine operation.

  • Duties include - Weld, fabricate, rework and-maintain tools, tooling, assemblies, manufacturing parts, production/experimental items and plant infrastructure of all types and-materials and systems pertaining to it.

  • Effectively communicate and-cooperate with operations and other support functions. Work in-conformance with local, state and federal codes and regulations, blueprints, specifications, trade practice, shop practice and verbal or-written instructions.

  • Maintain any licenses or certificates as required-by local, state and federal codes and regulations within the-geographical area, as pertains to the individual skill set performing-such work.

  • Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, remote overhead-cranes, weld condition machines, sandblasters, brake press/shears, and-stress relief ovens as applicable.

  • Perform work on aerial platforms, railcars, and elevated structures and scaffolding as applicable.

  • Train in new methods and advanced technologies.

  • Level B Facilities Welder will perform work in an efficient manner as assigned.

  • Train in new-methods and advanced technologies as determined necessary and provided-by the company.

  • Have the ability to independently make decisions in-regards as to how to complete assignments.

  • Enter and retrieve data from-the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or Process-Plants Data, order and requisition parts required to accomplish the-assigned tasks and input data as directed by a higher-grade employee or-manager except as relates to inventory, store, record, issue and any-other duties related to material support technician.

  • Weld, Braze, cut, fit and work with a broad spectrum of metals for the maintenance and-construction of plant facilities and equipment.

  • Weld in all position-sand have a minimum knowledge and proficiency to work in several-processes of welding including, but not limited to TIG/MIG/SMAW.

  • Have minimum knowledge of methods of identifying unknown metals and the-proper processes of working with them.

  • Have a minimum knowledge of shapes, weights and sizes of materials and how to use them.

  • Have minimum knowledge of layout and design of structures, architectural and-mechanical.

  • Successfully pass and maintain weld certifications.

  • Perform basic shop math and pass yearly eye exam.

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance daily on your machine.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

  • Maintain any licenses.

  • MIG,TIG, Stick(SMAW). and Plasma Cutter experience preferred

  • Weld,Braze,Cut,Fit.and work with broad spectrum of metals

  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift

  • Candidates must be able to maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Active DoD security clearance, OR be willing to obtain one, and ability to obtain program access
