Cerelia Bakery Canada LP Supply Chain Manager in Whitehall, Ohio

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Manager is a critical team member, who is able to oversee and manage the overall Supply Chain Operations, including purchasing, production planning, inventory, customer service and distribution of finished goods while driving a culture of continuous improvement excellence across the company.

This individual works closely with business leaders to develops and implements strategy to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goal and performance KPIs. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Leadership & mentorship for Logistics, Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory Control, and Scheduling

  • Develop the supply chain strategies to improve supply chain’s productivity, reduce expenses and cost, improve customer satisfactions

  • Own the Shipping Strategy and the key actions necessary to lead the team to achieving that strategy

  • Oversees routine weekly, monthly, and other periodic reporting of Supply Chain KPIs and other relevant information accurately and on time

  • Manages customer service regarding order in-take and fulfillment activities, 3PL management and customer service.

  • Ensures proper Inventory planning to determine appropriate levels, mitigate risks of undesired excess / short inventory positions by looking at the disposal of excess/obsolete inventory into the most appropriate channels and providing information on length of inventory shortages and root causes

  • Ensure proper inventory management, supply planning and order fulfillment via third party warehouses in use to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory risks

  • Manage 3PL partners with regards to processes, invoices, contracts negotiation, additional 3PL provider selection and resolving issues

  • Analyze seasonal inventory demand by examining the manufacturing capacity and understanding customer needs. Include translation of yearly sales volume budget into manufacturing production volume budget

  • Maintain and update capacity analysis; assist in capacity development projects

  • Leverage best-practices and systems to achieve top Supply Chain performance results

  • Actively participate in and assist with new product launches to ensure production to meet demand is viable from an inventory management and logistics perspective

  • Learns, manages and aim to continuously improve relevant internal data and data flow; educate relevant staff regarding Supply Chain

  • Manages the planning, assignments, and execution of inventory process at the facility

  • Work to eliminate annual physical inventory through the management of robust and accurate cycle counting process 

  • Serve as a key contributor to Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning (SIOP)

  • Ensure cohesiveness between Finance & Supply Chain to increase operational performance & financial results

  • Assist and or perform special projects and other duties as assigned

     

    Requirements

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Supply Chain Professional, with preferred experience in manufacturing, consulting and/or minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience working in a similar role

  • Must have a solid understanding and interpretation of Financials, Supply Chain, Safety / Quality / Delivery / Cost indicators

  • Experience in managing and leading people and projects, in a collaborative manner through change/growth

  • Must be experienced in developing and conducting training and overseeing ongoing initiatives

  • Systems – and technology-savvy SME, continuously striving to research best tools and methods

    Communication and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong verbal/ written communication and leadership skills at all levels of cross-functional teams

  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to identify (and connect with) external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, service providers and equipment OEMs.

  • Ability to positively influence members of the Management Team and lead Supply Chain initiatives

  • A results‐oriented personality, are metrics‐driven, and operate with a high level of integrity

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify issues, trends and drive solutions to improve processes and generate Value.
